Which Rife Machine — and Who Should Buy None of Them
Rife Frequency Healing compares four consumer platforms — Spooky2, TrueRife F-122, BCX Ultra and GB4000 — without naming a winner. None is FDA-approved as a medical device, and clinical efficacy has not been established for any consumer Rife device at any price. For several categories of reader, the documented answer is to buy none of them.
The question a first-time buyer asks is which Rife machine is best. Chapter 5 of Rife Frequency Healing does not answer it, and the refusal is the most useful thing in the chapter. Four consumer platforms dominate English-language sales — Spooky2, TrueRife F-122, BCX Ultra and GB4000 — and the book compares all four without crowning one, because the variable that decides satisfaction is not on the specification sheet.
Before the comparison comes the case almost nobody selling these machines will make: for a substantial number of readers, the correct purchase is none of them. That case goes first, because a comparison table read by the wrong person is worse than no table at all.
Start with the readers who should buy nothing
Chapter 3 lists seven absolute contraindications, and "absolute" is used literally: not a reason to shop carefully, but a reason not to use a consumer Rife device at all. Cardiac pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. Deep brain stimulators, spinal cord stimulators, cochlear implants and implanted drug pumps. Pregnancy, or actively attempting to conceive. Active cancer under treatment. Type 1 diabetes. Severe epilepsy with photic or pattern sensitivity. Certain metal and ferromagnetic implants.
Part of that is documented rather than argued. A pacemaker's sensing circuits are calibrated to detect millivolt-level signals from cardiac tissue; pacemaker and ICD manufacturers publish specific electromagnetic compatibility warnings and distances, and consumer Rife devices are not engineered to meet those requirements. That interaction is a matter of record.
One thing is not true, and the book says so without hedging: that any of these machines substitutes for medical treatment. Chapter 3 names the cases. A patient in Anoka, Minnesota stopped chemotherapy for pancreatic and hepatic cancer in 1997 after a single session with a frequency practitioner and died four months later; the practitioner was fined and permanently enjoined by court order. In 2018 the U.S. Department of Justice sentenced Robert Lytle to twelve years in federal prison over the QLaser scheme, with $12.08 million in restitution, and sentencing testimony named patients who had used the device instead of conventional care and had died of their cancers. In December 2000 the Sydney Morning Herald reported at least four Australian deaths, including a five-year-old child, linked to substitution of frequency therapy for conventional cancer treatment. Every one of those cases shares the same structural feature: substitution, not addition.
There is a third group, and it is larger than either of the first two — the reader buying a specification sheet rather than a use case. If you cannot name the delivery modes you intend to run, you are not yet ready to compare machines.
What the four platforms are, and where the numbers came from
Four consumer platforms dominate the English-language market at the chapter's time of writing, and the book covers all four. It also names the smaller brands it does not give a chapter to: PERL, made by Resonant Light in British Columbia and often used as the plasma stage alongside Spooky2; Rife Digital Professional V3, a portable generator popular in Europe for its simplicity; and Doug Coil devices, built in limited runs from a 1990s design by Doug MacLean and circulated through community channels rather than a conventional retail chain.
One fact is identical across every device named. None is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a medical device, and none is cleared under a Premarket Approval or the lighter 510(k) pathway for any medical indication. The book classifies them as experimental electronic instruments and states what follows: the comparison below is among instruments, not among certified medical products. That regulatory position is recorded as of the book's 2026 market survey.
The other thing worth knowing before the table is where the frequencies came from, because it is unclear to most owners and untrue in most marketing. Chapter 1 documents a technical rupture. John Crane and John Marsh's 1953 AZ-58 rebuilt the concept on contact pads instead of plasma, square waves instead of sinusoidal, and Rife's audio-range values divided by ten to bring them within reach of low-cost audio amplifiers. The descent from Rife's 1938 Beam Ray is inspirational, not technical. Whichever machine you compare, that is the lineage of the numbers it will run.
The comparison table
Every price and specification below is the manufacturer's stated value at the chapter's time of writing, in a market surveyed as of 2026. None of these figures has been independently audited by a third-party laboratory. Read them as vendor claims, not measured ground truth, and verify anything volatile — price above all — before acting on it.
Three notes on how to read it. The columns that claim most in absolute terms are the ones to hold at the greatest distance: preset counts are inflated by variants of the same underlying frequency across multiple databases, and top-frequency figures describe the generator's output stage rather than what reaches a body through a specific accessory. The rows that actually predict your experience are the dull ones — learning curve, software requirement, community size, warranty. And the FDA row is the same in every column, which is the point of putting it in the table at all.

The four price tiers, and the sentence that closes them
All figures below are advertised values at the book's 2026 time of writing. Price is exactly the category of number that goes stale fastest; treat these as the shape of the market rather than a current quote.
Under $500. The only credible entrant is the Spooky2 Starter's Kit XM at roughly $345: one XM generator, a Contact-mode cable with hand cylinders, a Remote-mode boot accessory that accepts a DNA sample, and the free Windows software. What the tier does not include: plasma, PEMF coil, cold laser, biofeedback, scalar, or the capacity to run more than one session at a time.
$1,000 to $2,000. The Spooky2 GX Pro Essential Kit at roughly $994 adds the GX Pro generator and a plasma-ready path when combined with the Central accessory. The TrueRife F-122 generator by itself sits at $2,995, technically at the upper edge of the range.
$2,000 to $5,000. The tier where all four platforms meet: Spooky2 Scalar plus GX Pro at roughly $1,800 to $2,200 depending on accessories; the TrueRife Starter Package at $4,899; the BCX Ultra Deluxe Standard at $2,795; the GB4000 with MOPA kit at approximately $4,495.
$5,000 and above. BCX Ultra Premium at $6,395, BCX Ultra Full Coverage at $7,125, TrueRife Premium at roughly $6,395, and the two-room BCX Upstairs/Downstairs configuration at $11,995. Spooky2's equivalent full build costs less in dollars because the modular architecture stacks generators around one control PC; the premium is paid in setup hours instead.
The chapter's closing note on all four tiers is the line worth carrying away. Price correlates with build quality, accessory coverage and customer support. It does not correlate with clinical efficacy, because clinical efficacy has not been established for any consumer Rife device at any price point. A more expensive machine is a better object in several measurable ways. It is not a more validated object. Budget the generator plus roughly thirty percent for accessories and consumables — electrodes wear out, bulbs need replacing, and Spooky2 users generally end up dedicating a laptop to the machine.
What matters, and what only sounds like it does
Four variables genuinely change the experience of ownership. First, the delivery modes you will actually run — write that short list before you write a budget, then read the delivery-modes row first, because it eliminates machines faster than anything else in the table. Second, build quality and service life, where the warranties encode different theories of durability: BCX Ultra's three years standard with an optional lifetime upgrade at $350, Spooky2's modular design that lets a failed generator be replaced rather than a system, TrueRife's coverage of the F-122 generator but fewer of its accessories, GB4000's variation by dealer and revision. Third, support and community size, where Spooky2's roughly 41,000 members across official forums and independent Facebook groups is a real operational advantage on specific questions. Fourth, interface fit — a PC-driven system is an asset if you already live on a computer and a liability if you would rather not manage drivers and USB hubs.
Four more sound decisive and are not. Unaudited peak-power claims — BCX Ultra's 300-watt Double Blaster, TrueRife's 1,800-volt driver stage, Spooky2's 40 MHz ceiling — describe what the electronics can produce in isolation, not the field strength that reaches a user through the accessories in normal operation. No third-party laboratory has publicly audited any consumer Rife machine for delivered field strength under standard operating conditions; the numbers are the manufacturer's, and the manufacturer has a commercial reason for them to be large. Database size flatlines past a few thousand distinct entries. Waveform count past sine and square rarely appears in user reports as a decisive variable. And an RF carrier option changes little for someone who will only ever run contact mode.
One clarification the chapter earns. It notes that among the five delivery modes, contact and PEMF have the clearest scientific literature. That is a statement about which modalities have been studied, not a claim that any of them produces a health outcome. Rife-specific clinical support remains absent across the field.
If you change machines later, only the hertz travels
Chapter 10 supplies the fact that lowers the stakes of choosing wrong: a frequency in hertz transposes, a preset name does not.
What moves cleanly between all four machines: hertz values, session duration, frequency sequences and dwell times, waveform basics (all four output a square wave), simple gating patterns, and any entry from the Consolidated Annotated Frequency List, which is brand-neutral by design.
What does not move: preset names first of all — "Detox_Molecular" on one machine and "GB_04_detox" on another are not the same protocol even when the ranges overlap. Spooky2's Remote mode, in which a DNA sample sits in a worn device and the session is claimed to be transmitted through a scalar field, has no counterpart on the other three; the book treats scalar transmission as unsupported by mainstream physics, and notes separately that there is simply nothing there to transpose. Plasma intensity settings, GB4000's MOPA mode with its 3.1 MHz carrier, BCX Ultra's Programmed Preset numbering, TrueRife's bulb-specific intensities, non-default duty cycles and accessory-specific delivery paths all stay behind.
The CAFL needs its own label too. It is a compilation, not a validated treatment guide: inclusion means someone published a frequency for that condition at some point, with source quality running from 1940s documents to 2000s forum posts. Annotations are uneven, there is no update schedule, and the same condition often appears under two or three names with overlapping but non-identical sets.
The practical consequence for a buyer is that a personal frequency library is portable and a delivery layer is not. Which is why Chapter 5's last rule is to test before committing: thirty minutes hands-on at a community workshop, a demo event, or through an informal lending network teaches more about comfort and interface than thirty hours of forum reading.
